Welcome to the Collaboration Finder
The Collaboration Finder is designed to help you learn more about the individual projects that make up the NSDL and help foster partnerships, collaboration and cooperation.
The Collaboration Finder is being developed to meet the needs of the NSDL community. The features and services offered by the Collaboration Finder directly address the needs voiced by individual NSDL projects and the NSDL Pathways to Progress Whitepaper.
The Collaboration Finder is a tool that collects specific activities that each project, funded by the NSDL program, have completed or proposed to complete. It also classifies the projects and activities along a number of useful dimensions (such as discipline, funding year, NSDL track, etc.).
What are the Benefits of Using the Collaboration Finder? Foremost, the Collaboration Finder helps the individual user as well as the NSDL Policy Committee and Standing Committees, Core Integration Team and PI's of Collections, Services and Targeted Research grants identify specific activities and projects that they may wish to work together with more closely.
It is a tool where NSDL-funded projects can:
- define their place within the NSDL, enabling better integration.
- identify opportunities for collaborating and leveraging their activities with others.
The Collaboration Finder can also help:
- the NSDL Program identify priorities for future funding or help shape a RFP to address the needs of the NSDL.
- the NSDL Policy Committee and Core Integration Team make recommendations for governing and managing project based on the status of activities.
- prospective awardees identify needs for new proposals and develop a collaboration for a stronger proposal.
- the NSDL Policy Committee and Core Integration Team provide accountability of project activities to NSF and other potential funding organizations.
